Welcome to the Berns Lab Web
Site
The Berns Lab is one of the lab under the division of molecular
genetics. One of the research interest in the lab is mouse cancer
models, where genetically engineered mouse models are used to define the
(epi)genetic lesions involved in tumor initiation, progression,
metastasis and tumor maintenance. These models are particularly suited
to design and evaluate new intervention strategies.
Mouse models for cancer: a way to gain insight into the complexity of
cancer and a route to more efficient preclinical testing of promising
drugs. In addition, a seemingly unlimited resource of genes contributing
to cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival.
Interested to contribute to these or related projects? Drop me an
e-mail. We might have a vacancy or, in case you can secure your own
funding, still find some bench space in our crowded lab.
Research in the Berns Lab is supported by grants from the
Dutch Cancer
Society, the European Community, the
Netherlands Organization for
Scientific Research and from the
Centre of Biomedical Genetics.
Anton Berns participates in the EU initiative
EUMORPHIA, which aims
towards better mouse phenotyping through the
EMPReSS resource.
Navigate through this web site and you will find more informations about
our research projects, lab news, the personnel involved with the
research projects, publications, some useful links, protocols and our
contact information.
