Welcome
to the Schumacher lab Homepage!
We are
interested in understanding and improving T cell function in viral infection
and tumor growth.
Our lab focuses on the
development and use of novel technologies to study and manipulate T cell
function in mouse model systems. Current projects in the lab are aimed at
the use of novel strategies for tracing antigen-specific T cell immunity,
the development and use of genetic barcoding to determine
differentiation pathways of T cells and other hematopoietic cell types, and
the induction of tumor-specific T cell immunity through T cell receptor
gene transfer.
The lab has a series of close
collaborations with the lab of John Haanen that involve the clinical testing
of newly developed technologies in phase I trials.
We are located at the
Department of Immunology at
The Netherlands Cancer
Institute in
Amsterdam.
